About the Role

Lead the successful migration of a statewide legacy learning management system (LMS) serving over 60,000 users to a new platform. Oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, stakeholder coordination, and post-launch stabilization. Work closely with the LMS vendor, state agency IT teams, and program stakeholders to ensure the system meets operational, training, and compliance needs. Establish policies for instructional design, categorization, life cycle, maintenance, and sunsetting of learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful migration of a statewide legacy learning management system (LMS) serving over 60,000 users to a new platform.
  • Oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, stakeholder coordination, and post-launch stabilization.
  • Work closely with the LMS vendor, state agency information technology teams, and program stakeholders to ensure the system meets operational, training, and compliance needs.
  • Establish policies for instructional design, categorization, life cycle, maintenance, and sunsetting of learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience in program administration/management, project management, or a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience.
  • A Masters degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
  • At least two years of experience must have included supervision of staff.
  • Master’s degree in a related field (Information Technology, Learning and Development, Instructional Design, Adult Education).
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience working within a public sector and/or grant-funded environment.
  • Work experience and/or familiarity with statewide or enterprise-level learning systems supporting large user populations.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and adult learning principles.
  • Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
  • Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time will be required.
  • The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
  • Managers determine the specific telecommuting expectations for each role based on operational needs and job responsibilities.
  • If designated as hybrid, you will divide your time between working remotely and reporting onsite.
  • Regardless of telecommuting status, all HRI employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of their official work location and must reside in one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Vermont.

Salary/Compensations

  • $100,379.00 Annually
  • $4,000 annual downstate adjustment (pro-rated for part-time positions)
