About the Role
This role provides inclusive service support for customer service and brokerage operations, responding to shipper queries, explaining customs brokerage services, investigating disputes, and processing credit card payments. The position also assists FedEx Express Customer Service Representatives and handles document sorting and mailing.
Responsibilities
- Responds to U.S. shipper on NRI program queries related to customs clearance, GST, PST, Customs Duty, Brokerage and Disbursement
- Explains customs brokerage service for LVS & HVS shipments, associated fees, and CBSA guidelines to customers
- Investigates and analyzes BI disputes and contacts Customs for additional information/clarifications
- Apprises customers and FedEx OPCO on dispute status and coordinates with FTNC’s Regulatory & Compliance department for corrections
- Updates all Customs clearance cases on 1Source until the file is closed
- Provides general customs brokerage information to customers upon request
- Processes credit card payments and provides payment receipts via fax or e-mail
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding credit card payment issues
- Provides assistance to FedEx Express Customer Service Representatives on queries related to customs clearance delays or FTNC clearance invoices
- Assists with sorting and mailing of low value shipment documents
Requirements
- High School Diploma Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in customer service
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, AS 400 and office equipment (fax machine/ photocopiers/printers/scanners)
- Ability to fluently read, write and speak in French is considered a valuable asset and a competitive advantage
- Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
- Capable of interacting with a wide range of customers, carriers and brokers
