About the Role

The Senior Community Manager ensures effective residential property operations by supporting a strong resident experience, coordinating leasing and administrative functions, and managing daily operational activities. This role acts as a key resident contact, contributing to satisfaction, occupancy, and revenue while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day property operations, customer service, rent collection, arrears, maintenance, inspections, supplies, and suite turnovers.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, tenancy legislation, legal notices, deposits, and documentation are followed accurately and consistently.
  • Respond to inquiries, conduct property tours, showcase suites, and follow up with prospective residents to support leasing goals.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of properties, amenities, neighbourhoods, availability, competitors, and market trends to support pricing and leasing strategies.
  • Address resident questions, complaints, and concerns professionally while promoting community engagement, satisfaction, and positive reputation.
  • Oversee move-ins, orientations, lease renewals, and resident events to strengthen engagement, loyalty, and revenue retention.
  • Lead, develop, supervise, and motivate site staff, service providers, and contractors while setting goals and implementing action plans.
  • Support budgets, forecasts, management plans, variance analysis, purchasing, and vendor coordination while operating within approved budgets.
  • Establish and support targets for energy efficiency, emissions, water conservation, waste reduction, and recycling while engaging residents and staff in sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

  • College or university education in business, hospitality, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • 3+ years of related experience in residential property management, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Post-secondary coursework in property management or hospitality and team leadership experience are assets.
  • Strong understanding of applicable laws, legislation, and rights related to resident and landlord relations.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Yardi is an asset.
  • Communicates clearly and works effectively with employees, residents, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manages multiple demands and competing priorities while adapting to change and maintaining a results-focused, detail-oriented approach.
  • Assesses operational issues, sets priorities, and makes timely decisions while escalating significant risks or concerns as appropriate.
  • Ability to provide clear direction, set expectations and effectively lead maintenance employees and external service providers.
  • Effectively prioritizes, schedules, delegates and coordinates work to balance operational needs, team capacity and resident service expectations.
  • Holds self, employees and service providers accountable for quality, safety, timelines and established standards.
  • A criminal verification check is required for employment.
