About the Role
Riot is expanding into hyperscale data centers for AI and HPC clients, seeking a Systems Administrator to support and maintain internal infrastructure across multiple locations. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, stability, and performance of core IT systems, including servers, virtualization platforms, and Microsoft cloud services. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining a stable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Own the monitoring, maintenance, and overall health of physical and virtual server infrastructure across multiple sites.
- Administer and support Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) operating systems.
- Administer and support Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 identity access management.
- Manage virtualization platforms (Proxmox, Nutanix, Hyper-V, and VMware), including provisioning, lifecycle management, and resource optimization.
- Oversee patch management process and ensure compliance of vulnerability remediation.
- Oversee core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, file services, backups, and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
- Monitor system performance, respond to alerts, and implement infrastructure changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and enforce security best practices.
- Participate in infrastructure projects such as upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
- Act as the primary escalation point for Level 2 support, resolving complex issues while mentoring staff.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and support IT operations within a manufacturing and engineering environment.
- Proactively maintain a stable, secure, and high-performing environment while making sound technical decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent enterprise IT experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in systems administration / infrastructure support.
- Strong experience with Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and hybrid environments.
- Strong experience with Proxmox and ubuntu.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 services (including SharePoint Online).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix and Proxmox).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, routing).
- Experience with system monitoring, backups, performance analysis, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and operate with minimal supervision.
- PowerShell scripting experience preferred.
