About the Role
Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, glassware, pots, pans, trays, and utensils, and maintaining kitchen, work areas, and equipment in an orderly and sanitary condition.
Responsibilities
- Represents Company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions.
- Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
- Safely removes garbage, compost, recycling and waste from customer service and kitchen areas, and places it in the appropriate receptacles.
- Washes, sanitizes and dries dishes used for service in accordance with proper HSQA guidelines.
- Soaks, washes, sanitizes and dries pots, pans and utensils used in the preparation of food.
- Places clean dishes, pots and pans in the appropriate areas for service.
- Completes all required annual training on 24/7 and MyLMS as required.
- Follows the master cleaning schedule in both dishwashing and kitchen areas.
- Interacts with customers to assure customer satisfaction.
- Interacts with co-workers to assure compliance with company service standards, and company inventory and property control procedures.
- Performs assigned tasks within the service time frames established for the job.
- Keeps the dishwashing and garbage collection areas following the Company QA Cleaning standards and by Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Implements a deep cleaning for the main dishwasher machine every Wednesday and Friday.
- Ensures all dishes are clean and sanitized before they are put away on dish racks or used by team members.
- Maintains the dishwasher area to make sure it’s clean and organized and that the wash cycle is always sanitary and operating at peak performance.
- Completes porter/receiver responsibilities when necessary to ensure the kitchen is organized.
- Removes Organic Green Bins every day after service.
- Attends weekly safety talk meetings.
- Completes the weekly cleaning checklist.
- Completes all required 24/7 training.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous dishwashing experience preferred but not required.
- Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines preferred.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
