About the Role

The Runaway Homeless Youth Specialist will provide day-to-day direct supervision of youth in The Sanctuary, complete necessary paperwork, and collaborate as a team member to deliver excellent services to youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day direct supervision of youth in The Sanctuary.
• Complete all necessary paperwork.
• Work as a team member to provide excellent services to the youth and families that utilize The Sanctuary.
• Provide emergency hotline counseling and suicide prevention.

Requirements

• Must have valid NYS driver’s license.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

Skills

• Ability to form a therapeutic relationship with children and their families.
• Ability to put into practice all techniques of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
• Demonstrated respect for client’s rights and safety.
• Ability to demonstrate counseling techniques.
• Ability to provide emergency hotline counseling and suicide prevention.

Education Level

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some college education preferred.
