About the Role
Oneida Health is seeking a full-time Medical Office Clerk for our Tri-Valley Vernon Primary Care practice. This role is responsible for managing appointments, coordinating and verifying billable services, and ensuring exceptional patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Promptly and professionally answer telephone calls and route them appropriately.
- Greet visitors and assist them as needed.
- Maintain medical records by filing/scanning reports, labs, and information.
- Explain financial requirements to patients and collect copayments.
- Schedule patient appointments using computerized systems.
- Provide daily schedules to physicians/clinicians or medical assistants.
- Communicate patient concerns related to scheduling with office leadership.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to obtain and verify charge information.
- Process and balance cash drawers and complete daily bank deposits.
- Perform other non-clinical duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of medical office experience preferred.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients.
- Ability to stand, sit, or move for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for computer tasks.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull light to moderate loads.
