About the Role

Seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to work autonomously with occasional guidance. This role is skilled in Product and Process Problem Solving and focused on continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, and Innovation within a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment. The engineer will support a highly automated, three-shift manufacturing operation and collaborate with various engineering teams to ensure product quality throughout the development, manufacturing, and field stages.

Responsibilities

Develop engineering solutions for Continuous Improvement in Safety, Uptime, and Quality.
Utilize data to identify process conditions and develop solutions.
Perform early issue identification, problem-solving, and corrective action tracking.
Summarize and evaluate reject and defect data to drive continuous improvement.
Provide statistical analysis of manufacturing process data.
Manage change to ensure no adverse effect on product quality.
Verify compliance with quality requirements and procedures.
Communicate and coordinate information with internal and external customers.
Collaborate cross-functionally to develop creative solutions.
Remain flexible and work extended hours as needed to ensure issue resolution.
Support corporate and local Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field(s).
Ability to understand and assess complex Engineering issues.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office Suite.

Skills

Quality knowledge
Ability to evaluate conformance to documented product and process specifications
Familiar with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Containment and understanding of customer satisfaction metrics
Problem Solving Certification/Lean Six Sigma Belt Certification
Understanding of ISO/IATF quality requirements
SQL/database knowledge
Ability to multi-task, support several projects and assign priority appropriately
Strong organizational skills – managing information from multiple locations and sources
Ability to work both independently and within teams
Familiar with Minitab or other statistical software (QDAS highly preferred!)
Knowledge of common problem-solving methodologies (Six-Sigma, RedX, Shainin, 5-Why, Fishbone, PDCA)
Entry-level understanding and proficiency in 3D CAD environments (Solidworks)
