About the Role

Hai Hospitality is seeking a Reservationist to provide incredible dining experiences for guests and guide the FOH service team. This role reports to and works with the Reservations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide incredible dining experiences for guests.
  • Guide and direct the FOH service team.
  • Manage reservations using Open Table / Seven Rooms software.
  • Understand reservation policies and capabilities for each location.
  • Determine reservation availability.
  • Communicate reservation updates, changes, or guest requests promptly and consistently.
  • Notate relevant information clearly, concisely, and professionally.
  • Utilize necessary formatting to maintain organization.
  • Communicate succinctly, constructively, and positively.
  • Engage guests in conversation.
  • Gracefully excuse yourself when necessary.
  • Demonstrate genuine care and enthusiasm for guests and their experience.
  • Show empathy and understanding.
  • Use strategy and verbiage to provide all available options and encourage guests to join us when reservations are no longer available.
  • Help out teammates as you see that they need assistance.
  • Complete sidework and opening duties in a timely fashion and assist others.
  • Ask teammates what they need.
  • Take initiative to execute miscellaneous tasks, whether they are assigned or not.
  • Filter non-reservation related phone calls.
  • Operate phone, email, and messaging systems.
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully, and through appropriate channels with management.
  • Follow through with proper responses.
  • Communicate throughout the shift when dividing tasks or stepping away from your desk to avoid redundancy or missed tasks.
  • Be up front and honest when setting guest expectations.
  • Present information thoroughly to avoid miscommunication.
  • Adjust verbiage when necessary.
  • Start and end each interaction on a positive note.
  • Seek opportunities to "wow" people.
  • Take it to the next level.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and supervisors, including via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and respond to written or digital documents, including emails, reports, and policies.
  • Detect and address workplace safety issues and adhere to safety guidelines and standards.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer or other office equipment for extended periods.
  • Perform repetitive hand and wrist movements for typing, writing, or data entry.
  • Lift and carry office supplies, files, or equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced work environment, including managing deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Work collaboratively in close proximity to coworkers in shared office spaces.
  • Tolerate exposure to standard office elements, such as artificial lighting, noise from office equipment, or climate-controlled environments.
  • Understand and follow directives, policies, and workflows provided by supervisors or management.
