About the Role
Entry-level management position supporting daily operations in Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry. This role directs and works with employees to maintain guestrooms and public spaces, ensuring guest satisfaction while adhering to operating budgets.
Responsibilities
- Ensures knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations are up to date.
- Oversees all lost and found procedures.
- Prepares work assignments based on room status and prospective check-outs.
- Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Ensures guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk.
- Works effectively with Engineering on guest room maintenance needs.
- Understands and complies with loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Supervises daily shift operations and ensures compliance with housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures.
- Assists in supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space.
- Manages linen inventory and guest supplies and assists in ordering supplies.
- Supervises Housekeeping and related areas in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
- Handles guest problems and complaints.
- Assists in reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
- Supports training initiatives for all employees.
- Participates in the investigation of employee accidents.
- Communicates performance expectations and monitors employee progress.
- Coaches, counsels, and encourages employees.
- Manages payroll administration.
- Observes and provides feedback on employee service behaviors.
- Supervises staffing levels to meet guest service, operational, and financial objectives.
- Communicates areas needing attention to staff and follows up.
- Participates in interviewing and hiring Housekeeping team members.
- Handles employee progressive disciplinary procedures.
- Utilizes the Labor Management System for scheduling and tracking employee time.
- Supervises Housekeeping shifts.
- Sets a positive example for guest relations.
- Participates in the employee performance appraisal process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 2 years' experience in housekeeping or related professional area.
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; no work experience required.
