About the Role
The Latino Research Institute (LRI) at UT Austin seeks a postdoctoral research fellow in the area of public policy. The ideal candidate will have a track record in both academic and public-facing publications, as well as research experience in one of the following policy areas: health, criminal justice, public and higher education, or energy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct primary and secondary source research.
- Prepare academic journal articles, policy briefs, white papers, and/or op-eds for public outlets.
- Meet regularly with supervisor and research team.
- Participate in the intellectual life of the Institutes.
Requirements
- All requirements for the PhD completed by August 15, 2026.
- PhD completed no more than three years prior to the start date.

- Academic Writing Sample and a public facing writing sample
- 3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor
- Must meet all required qualifications and be able to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

- You will be required to present acceptable and original documents to prove your identity and authorization to work in the United States no later than the third day of employment.
