About the Role

The Morning Show is seeking a talented Producer to join our national morning team. This role is designed to strengthen our national storytelling by elevating voices, stories, and communities from across the country—ensuring diverse perspectives are represented within a nationally broadcast program. Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering compelling live television that resonates with audiences nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Produce compelling, story-driven content for a nationally broadcast morning show.
  • Research, write, and build engaging segments that reflect current conversations, lifestyle trends, and stories from across Canada.
  • Identify, develop, and book diverse guests, contributors, and community voices for national exposure.
  • Showcase stories, personalities, and communities from across Canada within a national context.
  • Produce and manage contributors, including national talent and subject matter experts.
  • Pitch and develop original segment ideas that resonate with viewers coast-to-coast.
  • Demonstrate strong editorial judgment in story selection, lineup development, and content execution.
  • Collaborate closely with hosts, fellow producers, writers, and control room teams to create a cohesive and dynamic broadcast.
  • Work with internal teams across Corus to amplify content across television, radio, and digital platforms nationally.
  • Create, adapt, and distribute content optimized for social and digital channels.
  • Support sponsored content and sales integration while maintaining editorial integrity.
  • Participate in pre- and post-show meetings, contributing to continuous improvement of the broadcast.
  • Use graphics, visuals, and production elements creatively to enhance storytelling.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Contribute to audience growth and engagement across all platforms nationwide.
  • Step in to support team members and perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience producing news, lifestyle, or daytime television content.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to craft content for a broad, national audience.
  • Proven ability to generate innovative and engaging story ideas that reflect Canadian perspectives.
  • Experience highlighting diverse stories and perspectives for a national audience.
  • Experience booking guests and producing interviews and live segments.
  • Knowledge of Canadian current events, lifestyle topics, and audience interests.
  • Experience producing for both broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Experience working with sponsored content and brand integrations is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • A passion for showcasing diverse voices, communities, and stories from across Canada.

Skills

  • Strong research, writing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency with social media tools (e.g., Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Tik Tok) and digital content distribution.
