About the Role

This role is responsible for all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) issues at the Whitesboro, NY location. The EHS Leader will implement and maintain EHS company policy and legislative requirements, coordinate daily EHS activities, and improve safety performance throughout Pursuit Aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EHS Management System manual competencies.
• Maintain compliance with local, NY, and corporate environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Monitor and drive improvements in EHS performance, focusing on reducing accident rates, lost time, and conducting accident investigations and risk assessments.
• Reduce and eliminate environmental impacts, including waste disposal and resource efficiency.
• Lead and manage the ISO 14001/45001 certification process.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting of environmental performance, including site energy and water usage.
• Ensure fit-for-purpose processes and audit mechanisms are in place to support the business, including company induction processes.
• Provide analysis, advice, and support to resolve problems and enhance business performance.
• Develop and maintain professional networks to contribute to best practice and solutions.
• Support thought leadership and best practice within EHS across all business units.
• Develop and implement the EHS management system.
• Deliver EHS training using interactive methods and provide practical health and safety advice.
• Support continuous improvement and facilitate training and development for all employees.
• Collaborate with other locations to share best practices and advice.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to address diverse audiences.
• Project management skills, including organizing events, activities, and resources.
• Problem-solving abilities using a systematic approach to identify issues and draw conclusions.
• Working knowledge of ISO Management systems (ISO 14001 & 45001).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
• Minimum NEBOSH National General Certificate.
• Preferably hold or be working towards a NEBOSH diploma.
• Minimum AIEMA or working towards an environmental qualification.
• Proven track record or experience in the EHS field, preferably in manufacturing or consultancy.
• Clear thinker.
• Team-oriented with the ability to engage employees.
• Chartered member of IOSH, or working towards it.
