About the Role
The Yard Coordinator provides administrative support to achieve corporate goals during their assigned shift, supporting HP Hood’s operations and the warehouse/distribution of dairy and dairy related products.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates appointments with outside carriers and customer pick-ups via phone and electronically.
- Receives information from drivers, comparing it across multiple HP Hood software systems for accuracy.
- Inputs driver information into e2 OPEN and SAP YL systems.
- Communicates between warehouses (Ambient, Conventional Cooler, or ASRS), Yard Jockeys, and the operations team.
- Signs in and out all warehouse visitors, vendors, contractors, and carriers, including inbound & outbound loads.
- Monitors incoming and outgoing traffic using camera systems and visual observations, and operates the security gate.
- Weighs inbound and outbound tankers using scaling systems and processes scale tickets.
- Organizes all paperwork for correct trucks, filing, and submitting proper paperwork.
- Creates and maintains equipment inventories in SAP YL and communicates inventories with Yard Jockeys, leads, and warehouse planners.
- Works safely and promptly reports safety concerns to their supervisor/lead, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Communicates effectively between shifts and other departments.
- Works outdoors in all weather conditions for a significant portion of activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Computer skills preferred (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, SAP, and E2Open).
- Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts for job tasks.
- Ability to understand and respond appropriately to employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
- Sufficient English language communication skills for job functions.
- Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, and goals, and one's role in achieving them.
- Ability to operate facility equipment as required.
- Ability to complete all company training requirements.
- Ability to interpret company documents, literature, and UPC/code information.
- Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including the outside perimeter.
- Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment.
- Able to stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
- Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to multitask.
- Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.
