About the Role
Dominion House is seeking an Overnight Counselor to provide services to adults with mental illness in a stabilization group home. The role involves offering guidance, support, and rehabilitation skills to help clients achieve stable community living and independence.
Responsibilities
- Be available to clients at all times to provide guidance and supportive counseling.
- Complete hourly checks to ensure clients are resting comfortably.
- Provide rehabilitation skills such as teaching daily living skills, medication management, and coping skills.
- Offer crisis intervention and prevention.
- Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and clean environment for clients.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability in helping others.
- Six months to a year of experience working in human services required.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to be organized and have good time management skills.
- Valid and insurable driver's license preferred but not required.
- All offers of employment will be contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed background checks.
