About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support our People organization. This role will leverage data to enhance talent acquisition, development, engagement, and retention. You will analyze employee lifecycle data, transforming complex information into actionable insights that influence team building and support strategies. This is a high-impact, cross-functional position for individuals passionate about the intersection of data, people, and strategy, partnering with leaders across various departments to answer organizational questions, develop analytical frameworks, and improve decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Define and own core People metrics, establishing clear definitions and reporting for headcount, hiring, retention, organizational health, employee experience, and talent development.
- Build scalable analytical products, including canonical datasets, models, and self-service tools and dashboards.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner, translating analyses into clear narratives and recommendations for diverse audiences.
- Partner with Engineers to improve Fivetran's HRIS and ATS connectors.
- Establish strong practices for data quality, integrity, governance, privacy, access, and responsible use of sensitive employee data.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, surface opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to People leaders and business stakeholders.
- Shape the analytics culture by mentoring analysts, establishing best practices, and improving data fluency within People teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in analytics, data science, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and data modeling, with experience working across large, complex datasets.
- Experience using Looker, Tableau, Sigma, or similar business intelligence and visualization tools.
- Strong analytical judgment and a track record of translating ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and actionable recommendations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high bar for data quality, analytical rigor, and reproducibility.
- Excellent communication and data storytelling skills.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity, developing hypotheses, and owning analytical problems end-to-end.
- Strong cross-functional instincts and the ability to build trusted relationships with both technical and non-technical partners.
- A builder mindset focused on creating frameworks, datasets, and tools for future decision-making.
- Passion for using data to improve how organizations attract, develop, and support their people.
- Experience using analytics to support key business decisions, preferably at a high-growth, SaaS, or B2B product company.
