About the Role
The Weld Robot Operator programs, operates, and maintains automated welding robots to produce high-quality welded components. This position ensures efficient, safe welding operations that meet specifications and quality standards. The operator monitors robotic systems, troubleshoots issues, and collaborates with engineering and quality assurance teams to optimize performance and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate welding robots according to production schedules and specifications.
- Monitor robotic welding processes to ensure consistent quality and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding robots to prevent and resolve operational issues.
- Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to optimize welding parameters and improve product quality.
- Document production data, maintenance activities, and any deviations or incidents during the welding process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating automated welding equipment or robots in a manufacturing setting.
- Basic understanding of welding processes and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in robotic welding or related automation technology.
- Experience with programming welding robots such as FANUC, ABB, or KUKA.
- Familiarity with welding inspection techniques and quality control procedures.
- Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and best practices.
- Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
