About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated, mission-aligned bilingual Lead Pre-K Teacher who loves and respects our children. You will support our efforts to deliver rigorous and engaging instruction based on effective bilingual teaching strategies while focusing on the social-emotional needs of all students.

  • Provide instruction in Spanish or English on alternate days.

  • Dedicate time for planning, practice, and reflection.

Requirements

  • Skilled in current teaching methods and educational pedagogy.
  • Experience using play to nurture and build social emotional skills.
  • Experience with read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, and independent reading.
  • Experience with SOR to support diverse students' Kindergarten readiness skills.
  • Experience with interactive, hands-on, creative learning that promotes concept and skill development.
  • Experience using technology to support instruction.
  • Experience using multiple data sources to drive instruction.
  • Experience with differentiation of curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Knowledge of co-teaching strategies.
  • Nurturing and playful approach to early-learning experiences.
  • Ability to support children's development across social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and academic competencies.
  • Reflective and able to use multiple data sources for instructional decisions.
  • Capacity to accept and implement feedback to improve instruction.
  • Inclusive in celebrating and incorporating a child's family, culture, and previous experiences into the classroom community.
  • Strong relationship builder with excellent communication and planning skills.
  • Classrooms rich with materials and print representing diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Strong believer in anti-racism education, culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy, trauma-informed practices.
  • Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education program in a relevant content area.
  • Possesses a valid New York State Teaching Certification.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a full-time effective, impactful early childhood classroom teacher in an elementary school.
  • Experience in an urban charter school setting is preferred.
  • A bilingual extension is preferred.

Salary/Compensations

  • Certified teachers salary ranges from $66,000 - $122,764
  • Uncertified teachers salary ranges from $63,000 - $119,764
