About the Role

Emergency One is seeking dedicated individuals for Part-Time Medical Assistant positions. We provide comprehensive training for those committed to a healthcare career, offering a chance to acquire new skills within a reputable, privately-owned Urgent Care practice. Responsibilities

  • Perform skills under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, LPN, Radiologic Technologist, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, and/or Physician.
  • Obtain and input patient data into EMR, including chief complaint, symptoms, duration, injury location, medications, past medical history, review of systems, and allergies.
  • Record vital signs upon patient admission based on the present illness and/or accident.
  • Recognize and promptly communicate pertinent observations to the medical provider.
  • Assist with and perform skills for which the Medical Assistant has been trained.
  • Obtain, handle, and label all specimens correctly.
  • Maintain EMR to accurately document observations, interventions, treatments, procedures, and patient responses.
  • Check each patient room for necessary supplies.
  • Gather pertinent data for physical exams and verify that all criteria are met and documented accurately.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of bloodborne pathogens and adhere to universal precaution protocols.
  • Perform point-of-care testing (strep, mono, U/A, HCG, flu, Covid) accurately.
  • Relay and receive necessary information to and from involved departments such as lab, radiology, and hospital.
  • Perform phlebotomy to obtain labs and prepare specimens for the lab.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Some healthcare experience is a plus.
