About the Role
New York Public Radio seeks a Sales Assistant to support advertising campaigns across radio, podcasts, streaming, and digital platforms. This role offers hands-on experience in the business side of media and public radio, supporting revenue-generating activities throughout the sponsorship sales cycle and ensuring successful campaign execution with a high level of client service.
Responsibilities
- Support revenue-generating activities across the sponsorship sales cycle
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Assist with coordinating tasks, tracking deliverables, and managing timelines across multiple campaigns and initiatives
- Identify and escalate issues, missing information, or process bottlenecks that could impact campaign success
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with clients, agencies, and internal teams
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and departmental projects as needed
- Assist with proposal preparation, RFP responses, sales materials, audience data, reporting, and other sales and sponsorship support responsibilities as assigned
- Conduct checks for inventory availability
- Support proposal development, media plan preparation, and sponsorship recommendations
- Assist with client RFP responses and proposal documentation
Requirements
- 1–2 years of professional office, administrative, client service, or coordination experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, responsive, and solutions-oriented approach
- Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with clients and colleagues
- High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Comfortable learning new systems and adapting to evolving workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
- Resourceful, proactive, and calm under pressure when managing shifting priorities
- Interest in media, advertising, podcasts, radio, digital platforms, or client service/account coordination careers preferred
