About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Labor & Employment Associate with 3-6 years of experience providing advice and counsel to employers and handling single-plaintiff, complex, collective, and/or class action litigation and proceedings on their behalf.
Responsibilities
- Work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases in collaboration with senior attorneys.
- Represent employers in various types of labor and employment matters.
- Handle employment law litigation, with an emphasis on single-plaintiff, complex and/or class and collective action matters.
- Handle court conferences, depositions, mediations, dispositive motions, and trials.
- Advise employers on traditional labor, restrictive covenants, wage and hour law, leaves and accommodations, Title III, and other general employment law topics.
- Provide recommendations and practical business solutions to clients.
- Manage multiple matters simultaneously.
Requirements
- 3-6 years’ high-caliber experience representing employers in various types of labor and employment matters
- Experience handling employment law litigation, with an emphasis on single-plaintiff, complex and/or class and collective action matters
- Preference for those who have handled court conferences, depositions, mediations, dispositive motions, and trials or who have wage and hour experience.
- Experience advising employers on traditional labor, restrictive covenants, wage and hour law, leaves and accommodations, Title III, and other general—but sophisticated—employment law topics
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- A desire to work hard for discerning clients and with exceptional colleagues
- Intellectual curiosity and high emotional intelligence
- Excellent academic credentials and solid work ethic
- Stellar analytical skills and good judgment
- Experience providing recommendations and practical business solutions to clients
- Judicial clerkship experience is a plus
- The ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Admission to the New York bar is required
- New Jersey, Pennsylvania and/or Connecticut bar admission is a plus
