About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a SIAM Change and Software Asset Configuration Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for governing and coordinating the end-to-end change management process across a multi-supplier environment, while also ensuring the effective management of software assets and configuration data throughout the service lifecycle. You will ensure that changes are planned, assessed, approved, and implemented successfully, whilst maintaining accurate configuration information, optimising software asset utilisation, minimising risk to live services, and protecting service stability. As a key member of the Service Integration and Management (SIAM) function, you will collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and client stakeholders to ensure that change, software asset, and configuration management activities are delivered in line with agreed governance, contractual obligations, and industry best practices. By taking a proactive approach to identifying risks, dependencies, licensing considerations, and service impacts, you will drive continual improvement, maintain the integrity of configuration management data, support successful change delivery, and help enhance the overall customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Govern and coordinate the end-to-end Change Management and Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) processes across a multi-supplier SIAM environment, ensuring changes are implemented successfully and configuration information remains accurate, reliable, and controlled.
- Ensure change risks, dependencies, conflicts, service impacts, Configuration Items (CIs), relationships, and service dependencies are identified, assessed, maintained, and managed to support effective decision-making and operational stability.
- Collaborate with suppliers, client stakeholders, and internal teams to plan, communicate, govern, and deliver changes, while maintaining configuration baselines, data quality, and compliance with agreed standards and policies.
- Chair and facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, configuration reviews, audits, and governance activities to ensure effective decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and adherence to Change and SACM controls.
- Monitor, report on, and communicate the progress, outcomes, health, accuracy, and completeness of change and configuration management data, escalating issues that could impact service stability, change success, or operational performance.
- Drive continual improvement of Change Management and SACM processes, tooling, governance, and CMDB quality to strengthen service visibility, improve risk and impact assessment, and enhance overall service performance across the SIAM ecosystem.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT Service Management, Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) and Change Management, with Service Integration within a complex multi-supplier SIAM environment.
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices, particularly Service Asset & Configuration Management and Change Enablement, with ITIL Foundation certification essential and SIAM knowledge or certification desirable.
- Experience of managing and maintaining CMDBs, configuration data, service assets, and CI relationships, ensuring data quality, governance, and alignment across multiple suppliers and service providers.
- Strong understanding of service dependencies, configuration baselines, asset lifecycle management, and impact analysis, enabling effective support for change, incident, problem, and service continuity processes.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with suppliers, technical teams, service owners, and business stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to exercise sound judgement when assessing configuration risks, data integrity issues, service dependencies, and business impacts.
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management tools to manage CMDBs, service asset records, configuration governance, reporting, audits, and service management activities.
- Experience of driving continual service improvement initiatives, enhancing configuration management processes, CMDB accuracy, governance controls, and the overall effectiveness of service management within a SIAM model.
- To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
- To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
