About the Role

Join DXC Technology's growing Cyber Defence team as a SOC Analyst Level 2 in Farnborough. This role offers the chance to work in a high-security environment, protecting critical systems and customers from cyber threats. You will monitor and respond to security incidents, support junior analysts, and contribute to operational improvements.

Responsibilities

Monitor and investigate alerts from SIEM tools within a 24/7/365 SOC environment.
Respond to and triage security incidents, escalating where appropriate.
Act as a senior point of contact on days, supporting junior analysts during investigations.
Contribute to the improvement of SOC playbooks, processes, documentation, and detection use cases.
Identify ways to improve workflows and strengthen SOC operations.
Review KPIs and trends to support service improvement initiatives.
Stay up to date with the latest cyber threats, threat actors, and attack techniques relevant to customers.
Participate in ongoing learning, knowledge sharing, and technical development opportunities.

Requirements

Eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including residency and right to work in the UK.
Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, protocols, and traffic flows.
Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems in a security-focused environment.
Confidence analyzing logs and identifying suspicious or malicious behaviour.
Familiarity with threat actors, TTPs, and modern detection techniques.
Experience using Elastic Stack and SIEM technologies.
Knowledge of OSINT techniques and how they can support investigations.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to different audiences.
Ability to manage workloads effectively while supporting wider shift activities.
Proactive mindset and willingness to continue developing technical skills.
