About the Role
We’re looking for a Risk Underwriter (Risk Analyst) to join our growing Trade Credit team. In this role, you will work with the risk underwriting team to facilitate trade for our Trade Credit clients.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the buyer review process, assessing a portfolio of buyers and providing credit recommendations.
- Ensure credit analysis aligns with risk assessment structure, risk management guidelines, and applicable rules.
- Provide timely and effective communication with commercial underwriters and brokers.
- Contribute to the Trade Credit Strategic Plan, including new business, retention, buyer capacity, and relationship management.
- Partner with internal subject matter experts to determine transaction viability and mitigate risks.
- Support performance and growth by helping set underwriting policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Lead continuous improvement activities and deliver product enhancements and new products.
- Build professional networks to strengthen risk analysis and industry understanding.
Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in financial statement analysis, commercial lending, commercial underwriting, or related financial services.
- Knowledge of underwriting and/or financial transaction structuring.
- Experience leading and supporting complex commercial credit transactions across various industries and international markets.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- MBA, CFA, or CPA designation is an asset.
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment.
