About the Role

The Certified Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing curriculum, supervising children, and managing the classroom environment. This role involves guiding assistant teachers, conducting child assessments, and communicating with parents.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the classroom is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Completes all required academy and classroom paperwork.
  • Attends staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings.
  • Supervises and assists children during all activities.
  • Counsels children on social, academic, or adjustment issues.
  • Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
  • Develops and prepares instructional aids and materials.
  • Assists children during meal times and clean-up.
  • Ensures classroom equipment is in good working condition and used properly.
  • Arranges the classroom into defined interest areas.
  • Directs classroom staff to ensure orderly functioning.
  • Communicates with parents and maintains children's developmental profiles.
  • Schedules and conducts parent/teacher conferences.
  • Maintains family information and classroom bulletin boards.
  • Ensures adherence to the classroom medication schedule.
  • Performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must possess a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or equivalent certification accepted by the State Department of Education.
  • 2 years of classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility.
  • Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality.
  • Highly professional and dependable.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels, as well as parents, coworkers, and management.
