About the Role
We are looking for a reinsurance professional to provide operational support to the CNA / Hardy Ceded Reinsurance function, ensuring post-placement activities are conducted promptly and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Manage proportional quota share reinsurance contract processes, including policy rules and entries, calculation and rendering of statements, and managing reinsurer queries.
- Manage excess of loss reinsurance contract processes, including policy entry, claims close and recoveries, dealing with underwriters queries, premium allocations and payments, and Premium Adjustment calculations.
- Ensure premium payments are made effectively and on time, adhering to LORS and USM settlement procedures and internal finance payment processes.
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements, adhering to agreed procedures and controls.
- Involve in regulatory returns, including Lloyd’s SRS and those required for reinsurance Pools schemes.
- Assist with the processing and handling of Facultative reinsurance processes, including policy entry, premium payment, and claims recoveries.
- Identify and service run-off and legacy accounts.
- Issue large special settlement requests as required.
- Provide sign-off within an agreed framework as a second pair of eyes.
- Support and collaborate with Underwriting, Reserving, Finance, and Claims teams.
- Communicate externally with Brokers and Reinsurers to advise and secure settlement of premiums and recoveries.
- Monitor and manage credit control and aged debt.
- Calculate and reconcile broker relationship dividends.
- Assist with projects as requested by the Reinsurance Operations Manager, including involvement in new system implementation.
- Represent the department in internal and external meetings.
- Nurture less experienced members of the Operations Team.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years’ experience of working for a Lloyd’s Syndicate and/or Company market in a ceded reinsurance role.
- Experience and thorough understanding of ceded Reinsurance.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability and confidence to build internal/external relationships.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software with advanced Excel skills.
- Attention to detail, willingness to understand and enhance processes.
- Good working knowledge of Market Outwards Reinsurance Systems.
- Knowledge of policy administration systems Subscribe, Senator and/or XLRAS would be advantageous.
