About the Role

This strategic role focuses on deploying technologically driven Travel and Expense (T&E) processes globally, ensuring compliance with defined policies and collaborating with various markets. You will act as a subject matter expert, driving process improvement initiatives and leveraging expertise in project management, process optimization, and automation to refine end-to-end T&E operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the global functional Travel and Expense team.
  • Define and implement T&E reporting at global, regional, and market levels.
  • Coordinate Travel Management activities.
  • Animate the local markets Travel Manager community and share best practices.
  • Demonstrate expertise in T&E processes across various solutions like Coupa, Concur, and D365.
  • Drive continuous improvements and iterations on the process landscape.
  • Review local process variations against the standard model and seek alignment with Global Process Owner principles.
  • Provide ongoing knowledge transfer to markets regarding process changes.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for process-related change requests from deployment teams.
  • Work with country teams to drive implementation prerequisites and alignment to the operating model.
  • Directly manage the process lead.
  • Lead new Travel Agency implementations, including project management and coordination.
  • Manage travel management related tools and solutions.
  • Conduct supplier follow-ups and participate in business reviews to ensure SLA adherence.
  • Identify process risks and implement key controls for mitigation.
  • Monitor and report on internal control processes with Internal Audit.
  • Sign off on risk and control matrices and registers.
  • Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish process targets.
  • Align travel policies, implement programs, and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Drive simplification, automation, and offshoring of Cost Management processes.
  • Implement new technologies like automation and robotics to enhance process efficiency.
  • Continuously scan the environment for best practices and transformation initiatives.
  • Write, review, and sign off on process documentation and SOPs.
  • Own T&E process streams SOPs and ensure training materials are updated.
  • Create a T&E process community for alignment and best practice sharing.
  • Build strong relationships with regional leaders and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a complex, matrix organization with a global scope.
  • Expertise in influencing change on a global and local level.
  • Travel and finance background with a good understanding of T&E processes and process compliance.
  • Proven T&E experience with a Tier 1 platform and Travel Management Providers (ideally Concur and Amex GBT).
  • Experience working in Finance / Internal Control / Travel.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Confidence in presenting virtually and directly to large/senior audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with good data analysis skills.
  • Proactive nature, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with little supervision.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to write and speak in English.
  • French and any additional language skills are a plus.

  • Working with the Global Source to Pay Process Owner (GPO), this role is critical to driving process improvement initiatives, and activities related to Global T&E processes and strategy.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyse processes, and drive efficiency to optimize the T&E operations.
  • As part of the Continuous Improvement team, who is in charge of maintaining, continuously improving, and supporting all processes related to Source to Pay & T&E (team of 10 people) you are there to ensure CHANEL reaches our S2P objectives, including the digitalisation of T&E experience.
