About the Role
The Surveillance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, organization, and upkeep of all Video Management Systems (VMS) equipment, including cameras, monitors, alarms, CCTV switches, digital encoders, servers, RAID systems, network switches, DVRs, wiring, and Security Access Controls programming and troubleshooting. This role requires maintaining up-to-date documentation, ensuring equipment meets standards, and providing technical assistance and training.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, install, organize, and upkeep all VMS systems/equipment.
- Design and maintain LANs, WANs, VLANs, QOS, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, core switching, and routing.
- Keep all documentation up to date relating to site maps, maintenance records, and surveillance layouts.
- Ensure surveillance equipment meets Resort World standards and New York State Gaming Commission requirements.
- Document and maintain detailed records of scheduling, services, repairs, installations, removal of surveillance equipment, and preventative maintenance.
- Provide 24-hour emergency response for equipment repairs.
- Develop and conduct training for Surveillance staff on technical equipment usage.
- Provide technical assistance to other departments for covert video and audio surveillance equipment installation.
- Catalog and inventory all surveillance technical equipment.
- Perform Observer duties when needed to maintain minimum staff requirements per NYSGC Regulations.
Requirements
- Certified in network administration (Networking Degree or CCNA/CCNP certifications).
- Five plus years of experience in a networking environment.
- Previous experience in Surveillance and Security Access Control hardware/software configurations preferred.
- 20/20 vision/corrective lenses, ability to distinguish colors, shapes, and differences in size.
- Ability to communicate in English both orally and written.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Possess a high school or equivalent diploma.
- Ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to New York State Lottery regulations.
- Five (5) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of technical surveillance equipment.
- Knowledge of working with CCTV systems, including cameras, monitors, and recording devices.
