About the Role
As a Tax Senior Accountant supporting our asset management and financial services clients, you’ll focus on the operating businesses behind the funds — the management companies with employees and day-to-day business operations. You’ll navigate sophisticated, multistate structures, foreign ownership considerations, and complex allocations, all while working independently on meaningful, high-impact engagements. This is an opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, take ownership of the day-to-day, and grow within a collaborative, people-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for asset management companies (partnerships, S-Corps, and C-Corps).
- Manage complex multistate compliance, often filing in 20+ states, including PTE, composite, and nonresident withholding requirements.
- Work through special allocations and multi-tier structures, sometimes involving foreign partners and ownership of foreign entities.
- Conduct technical research and provide guidance on complex tax matters affecting client operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy across engagements.
- Take ownership of day-to-day engagement responsibilities, working independently with minimal oversight.
- Review the work of other team members to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, with client interaction growing over time as you advance.
- Collaborate closely with managers and engagement teams to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional service.
- Mentor and support junior staff through training, feedback, and review.
- Model strong communication and organization to promote team alignment.
- Contribute to a collaborative team with a culture built on strong working relationships.
