About the Role
Dazed Studio partners with ambitious brands to create pioneering ideas for a global influencer community, specializing in fashion, luxury, and lifestyle communications. As a client-facing producer, you will execute and deliver bespoke commercial projects, ensuring successful planning, pricing, pitching, and timely delivery across stills and motion.
Responsibilities
- Provide production solutions to clients by working closely with the studio creative team and project managers.
- Assemble relevant creative teams from various departments to respond to project briefs.
- Ensure relevant margins are adhered to across all work.
- Interrogate client briefs, set clear objectives, and sense check creative development within budget.
- Facilitate internal creative meetings and act as a lead point of contact for production action items.
- Develop production timelines with the project management team for client sign-off.
- Manage day-to-day production topics autonomously.
- Sense check creative team proposals regarding costs and timings, offering solutions and identifying potential clearance or legal issues.
- Encourage diversity and representation in creative team/cast proposals.
- Forecast production budgets for sign-off.
- Ensure NDAs are signed when engaging with third parties during pitch stages.
- Grow professional network of industry professionals and represent Dazed Studio production at industry events.
- Perform various administrative tasks including meeting notes, schedule maintenance, and updating the production planner.
- Act as a client-facing contact during the pre-sale stage where required.
- Ensure agreed creative is pre-produced and planned within timelines and budget.
- Coordinate with the finance team to ensure pre-production costs are paid to suppliers ahead of shoots.
- Work with both production companies and self-produce shoots.
- Ensure business affairs agreements are signed upon awarding external creative teams/third-party suppliers.
- Ascertain and manage project expectations before casting or pitch stages.
- Set up calls to brief photographers, directors, or production companies on studio creative.
- Travel and produce overseas where relevant.
- Support the Head of Production on sustainable practices.
- Monitor agreed budgets and flag potential overages or out-of-scope requests.
- Pre-empt and effectively deal with issues to minimize impact on client and inter-departmental relationships.
- Support the project management team on pre-bid and pre-production meetings.
- Support producers and junior producers with onboarding and project questions.
- Attend shoots and client update meetings, preparing relevant documentation.
- Be aware of the Statement of Work (SOW) contents, client deliverables, and usage.
- Comply with union and industry regulations (e.g., SAG).
- Onboard freelancers and junior team members.
- Ensure timely submission of invoices from vendors.
- Flag issues related to vendor/supplier payments.
- Commission creative talent and maintain communication with collaborators.
- Work closely with creative talent on client feedback.
- Manage workflow and input from the creative team.
- Ensure each project has a signed contract and relevant documentation on file.
- Be client-facing in meetings and on set, conducting yourself professionally.
- Reconcile project budgets and report financials.
- Ensure archiving of all business affairs agreements and project budgets.
- Attend project close/debrief meetings.
- Support the Head of Production with queries on business affairs, legal issues, clearance, and insurance.
- Contribute to the database of creative talent.
- Support internal initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years of experience as a producer with project management skills in a creative environment (agency, studio, production company, or in-house).
- Experience across both stills and motion production.
- Ability to handle multiple work streams.
- Knowledge of business affairs agreements (talent, clearances) and working knowledge of APA/IPA rates is desirable.
- Be a self-starter.
- Accountable for owning a production from pitch to delivery, flagging concerns promptly.
- Genuine interest in creative work and production.
- Eager to manage projects spanning print, digital, social, photography, editorial, and moving image formats.
- Organized, reliable, time-conscious, solution-focused, proactive, and a problem solver.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced creative environment.
- Experience working with brands in the luxury, lifestyle, and fashion sectors is preferable.
- Positive and sunny ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Understanding of up-and-coming and established creative talent.
- Interest in the evolution and future of production and industry trends (e.g., metaverse/NFTs).
- Interest in sustainable practices and supporting them on productions.
- Experience working on productions on a global basis is desirable.
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Ideally passionate about film, fashion, arts, and culture.
- Keen understanding of the Dazed brand, values, culture, and heritage.
- Appreciation of the distinct market value Dazed offers to clients.
- Preferably competent in macOS, Excel, Word, Keynote, Google Suite, Google Drive, and Monday.
