About the Role
The Dispatcher coordinates the daily scheduling and dispatching of Northeast Dock & Door technicians to ensure timely and responsive customer service. This role serves as a central communication point between customers, technicians, and various internal departments, managing changing priorities and ensuring all parties have necessary information.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch technicians for breakdowns, emergency service calls, preventive maintenance, and other service work.
- Prioritize service calls based on customer needs, urgency, technician availability, geography, and operational requirements.
- Adjust technician schedules as customer needs and priorities change throughout the day.
- Coordinate installation projects with Operations and field technicians.
- Open work orders and maintain accurate customer and service information.
- Process and maintain work order information in Company systems.
- Monitor Work in Progress and follow up on outstanding work and documentation.
- Process PM reports and route information requiring additional action.
- Communicate job requirements, schedules, and changes to technicians.
- Coordinate with Parts to help ensure technicians have what they need for scheduled work.
- Handle incoming customer calls and service requests.
- Confirm appointments and keep customers informed of scheduling changes and service status.
- Work closely with the Service Writer, Sales, Parts, Operations, and other NEDD employees to support customer needs.
- Help identify and resolve scheduling or workflow issues before they delay customer service.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating with employees across multiple departments.
- Comfort working with computer-based scheduling, work order, and customer systems.
- One to three years of service department, dispatching, scheduling, customer service, or related experience.
- Experience in a service, industrial, construction, material handling, Dock & Door, or similar environment is a plus.
