About the Role

Samsara interns tackle challenging, real-world projects with the same autonomy and responsibility as full-time engineers, making a tangible impact on global customers from day one. Interns will work with millions of IoT devices, petabytes of data, and software impacting essential workers. They will be paired with an Engineering mentor, gain customer exposure, and have visibility to engineering leadership. Access to the latest AI tools will accelerate learning and productivity. Interns may contribute to backend infrastructure, full-stack development, mobile app enhancement, or embedded software on hardware, including edge AI and real-time data processing.

Responsibilities

  • Build backend infrastructure for IoT platform, scaling data ingestion and storage systems.
  • Develop full-stack features, creating intuitive user experiences that turn data into actionable insights.
  • Partner with product and design teams to rapidly iterate on features.
  • Strengthen the infrastructure behind the React Native app.
  • Build and maintain software for Samsara hardware, including edge AI, multimedia frameworks, power management, and real-time data processing.

Requirements

  • Currently in your penultimate year of study (or second-to-last year of an integrated Master’s / MEng).
  • On track to complete a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
  • Expected graduation no earlier than Summer 2028.
  • Must include CV / résumé in application.
  • Must answer all application questions.
  • Must not be enrolled in school or university full-time while working at Samsara.
  • Must have the ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location.
