About the Role
TAG International is seeking a Senior International Development Manager to lead complex international programmes within its Transnational Threats portfolio. This role involves programme leadership, client engagement, technical oversight, and business development, focusing on areas like counter-terrorism, preventing violent extremism, and strengthening rule-of-law systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee complex international programmes and projects, ensuring timely, within-budget, and high-standard delivery.
- Provide operational oversight, including contract compliance, financial management, risk management, and client reporting.
- Serve as the primary client contact, fostering strong working relationships.
- Offer technical input, quality assurance, and oversight for programme delivery.
- Lead, support, or contribute to programme activities, reporting, monitoring, evaluation, and lessons learned.
- Recruit, manage, and coordinate technical experts, consultants, and delivery partners.
- Identify and mitigate delivery, financial, commercial, and legal risks.
- Identify and develop new opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Lead or support opportunity capture, pursuits, and competitive tenders.
- Develop technical approaches, methodologies, commercial offers, and project budgets.
- Produce and review high-quality proposals and technical submissions.
- Grow existing projects and client accounts to meet financial and impact targets.
- Develop networks of local partners and subject-matter experts.
- Monitor market developments and trends to inform TAG's services and strategic positioning.
- Manage and develop team members, promoting high performance and professional growth.
- Collaborate across TAG to mobilize expertise and operational support for bids and delivery.
- Share learning and best practices within the organization.
- Represent TAG professionally with clients, partners, and in the market.
- Uphold TAG's values and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
Requirements
- Significant programme management or operational experience in international development, government, or the security sector.
- Relevant technical knowledge of international development and transnational threats, including counter-terrorism and serious and organised crime.
- Proven experience delivering complex programmes in international settings.
- Experience working with UK or other government clients and partners.
- Demonstrable record of contributing to winning new business and developing client accounts.
- Experience writing, contributing to, or evaluating technical proposals for donor or government clients.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with project budget development and management.
- Excellent client, partner, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Existing right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not provided).
