About the Role

We are seeking an experienced asset management professional to help the water sector deliver sustainable, resilient, and customer-focused infrastructure investment plans. This role offers the opportunity to influence investment decisions, shape long-term asset strategies, and assist clients in addressing critical industry challenges such as climate change and aging infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical leadership and quality assurance across asset management projects
  • Leading the delivery of strategic asset management, investment planning, and business case development assignments
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and acting as a senior technical advisor
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams to develop data-driven investment and asset management solutions
  • Supporting business development activities, including proposal preparation and client engagement
  • Managing project delivery, budgets, and resources
  • Mentoring colleagues and contributing to the growth, innovation, and technical excellence of the practice

Requirements

  • Demonstrable expertise in asset planning or asset strategy, such as business plan preparation
  • Expertise in risk assessment and risk management
  • Expertise in investment appraisal and cost-benefit analysis
  • Expertise in investment planning or investment program optimization
  • Expertise in resilience assessment and planning
  • Experience developing decision support tools
  • Experience in performance monitoring/reporting
  • Some experience/knowledge of ISO 55000 or another ISO standard
  • Degree qualified
  • Industry experience in asset management within a water company or consultancy
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear recommendations
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Some project management, client liaison, and consulting skills
  • Willingness to undertake assignments throughout the UK, as well as short international visits
  • Certificate or Diploma in Asset Management from the Institute of Asset Management (Desirable)
  • Assurance/audit experience including experience of ISO auditing (Desirable)
  • Commercial awareness and bid preparation (Desirable)
  • Chartership with a relevant professional institution (Desirable)
