About the Role
SpinCo is seeking a Sr. Director, Business Development to identify, qualify, and develop strategic business opportunities within the cloud and data center ecosystem. This role will build relationships with key industry players and translate infrastructure requirements into differentiated solutions, driving revenue and profit growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies for SpinCo’s Cloud & Cooling portfolio.
- Build trusted relationships with customer executives, engineering leaders, sourcing teams, and operations stakeholders.
- Identify and qualify opportunities across data center infrastructure, including integrated rack solutions, liquid cooling, power systems, and related manufacturing and supply chain services.
- Shape customer-specific value propositions connecting SpinCo’s capabilities to customer objectives.
- Lead early-stage customer engagement from account targeting through business award.
- Coordinate with global teams to develop credible, executable, and attractive solutions.
- Develop commercial strategies and business cases addressing pricing, investment, capacity, risk, profitability, and ROI.
- Maintain a disciplined pipeline with detailed opportunity information.
- Support existing accounts in identifying adjacent opportunities and expanding SpinCo’s role.
- Serve as the commercial focal point during the development and launch of new opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, customer investments, competitive activity, and technology developments.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, business or a related field.
- Typically requires 5-10 years of related experience in Electronic Manufacturing Services, Datacenter or Cloud B2B Services sales.
- Experience working with and selling into datacenter customers, such as hyperscalers, Neocloud and data center operators and colocation providers.
- Ability to work with internal teams and executive management as well as external customers to maximize mutual benefit.
- Knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, such as integrated racks, liquid cooling and power systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of Strategic Selling techniques.
- Understanding of key financial metrics and capability to read P&L, balance sheets, ROI indicators, taking actions to meet customers’ needs and internal targets.
- Ability to successfully influence senior level management, executives, and key clients.
