About the Role

Sizewell C is building one of the UK’s largest and most important energy projects. As Senior Commercial Manager, you will support the effective implementation of the Programme Alliance Agreement (PAA), a multi-billion pound, multi-party alliancing contract, across Sizewell C processes, systems, and teams. This role focuses on identifying and resolving interface gaps, providing expert advice, developing contract management guidance, and supporting the Unifier contract administration tool. You will work proactively with various functions to ensure robust governance, identify contractual gaps, and strengthen commercial controls.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert on the PAA.
  • Identify and resolve gaps between contractual requirements and SZC processes.
  • Provide practical commercial advice to contractor teams and functions.
  • Support consistent contract administration and governance across the programme.
  • Promote dispute avoidance through proactive issue resolution.
  • Develop training materials, guidance, and templates for PAA use.
  • Produce and support the roll-out of the Contract Management Manual.
  • Deliver training and coaching to commercial and functional teams.
  • Embed consistent contract management standards across the SZC Civils programme.
  • Support the development of the Unifier contract administration platform.
  • Ensure commercial processes, controls, and workflows are effectively embedded.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, transparency, and data quality.
  • Drive supplier performance and commercial governance.
  • Mitigate risks and resolve commercial issues.
  • Provide strategic oversight across the relevant portfolio.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience in commercial or supply chain roles on major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, or complex regulated projects.
  • Strong procurement and post-contract management experience.
  • Good understanding of dispute avoidance and issue resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of Alliance, NEC, and/or FIDIC contracts.
  • Experience with alliance or target cost contracts is advantageous.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex contractual requirements into practical guidance and processes.
  • Must meet criteria for Security Vetting, ordinarily requiring UK residency for at least three of the past five years.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.

Salary/Compensations

  • Circa £82,000 depending on experience

  • Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
