About the Role

The Wealth Management (WM) Chief Data Office (CDO) supports a global team in achieving its risk objectives and demonstrating value to Morgan Stanley. This role manages a team responsible for client and financial advisor engagement on cybersecurity and fraud, and supports the Chief Data Officer with administrative and operational tasks including budgeting, resourcing, space management, talent development, and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team coordinating engagements between WM CDO Subject Matter Experts with High Net Worth clients/prospects and financial advisors for business development or incident response.
  • Manage administrative staff supporting WM CDO Managing Directors with scheduling, travel, and expense management.
  • Manage WM CDO’s overall non-comp budget (e.g., consulting, travel, training).
  • Support hiring managers in recruitment activities and provide leadership with hiring pipeline and key personnel data insights.
  • Ensure new hires understand the WM CDO mission/vision and their role in advancing it.
  • Facilitate touchpoints, communications, and initiatives to ensure team members drive toward shared objectives (e.g., Monthly All Hands Series, Quarterly New Joiners Series, Bi-Monthly Newsletter, annual goal setting).
  • Work with SMEs and content producers to maintain and disseminate educational and marketing materials to help clients/prospects and advisors reduce data security and/or fraud risk.
  • Maintain team-related documentation, such as organizational charts, onboarding curriculum, and job descriptions.
  • Drive WM CDO’s mentorship program to help team members grow their network and achieve career goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7-12 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
  • A strong customer service orientation
  • Prior management experience
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills
  • Ability to independently execute on multiple, simultaneous workstreams and exhibit strong attention to detail
  • Expertise in office productivity software, data analysis, and collaboration tools
  • Prior business development or client engagement responsibilities
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry; preferably in wealth management, finance, operations, or technology
