About the Role
Ferrovial Construction is seeking a Chartered Engineer to act as the technical authority for structural engineering across water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role involves leading design, providing expert technical input, and managing multidisciplinary teams to ensure structural designs are practical, buildable, and compliant with relevant standards.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority for structural engineering across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Lead the design and coordination of structural elements within treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs and associated infrastructure.
- Provide expert technical input from early development and tender stages through to construction and handover.
- Manage and coordinate external designers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ensure integration between civil, geotechnical, process and other disciplines.
- Identify, assess and manage technical risks and opportunities in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with UK standards, Eurocodes, and Ferrovial engineering governance requirements.
- Promote innovation, value engineering, digital engineering and standardisation of design solutions.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure structural designs are practical, buildable and aligned with delivery strategies.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Extensive experience delivering major infrastructure projects with significant structural scope, particularly within the water sector.
- Strong background in reinforced concrete and steel structures for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary interfaces and complex project environments.
- In-depth knowledge of UK design standards, Eurocodes and construction practices.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in designing and managing temporary works.
