About the Role

New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is seeking a Socio-Therapist/Case Associate to provide support to families and youth in foster care, ensuring their safety, permanency, and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Develop behavioral plans and/or contracts to optimize youth functioning and mental health.
  • Connect youth with community resources and extracurricular activities.
  • Advocate for youth at school in collaboration with relevant staff.
  • Conduct in-person contact with children and foster parents in homes and communities.
  • Participate in family team and interdisciplinary conferences.
  • Maintain accurate and timely record keeping in the Connections state system.
  • Supervise virtual and in-person visits, acting as a visiting coach.
  • Assist in transporting youth to visits and appointments.
  • Conduct foster home visits, visits to birth homes, and other field visits.
  • Attend meetings and conferences as needed.
  • Assist with data collection for adoption home studies.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with families in a child welfare setting preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and engagement skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
