About the Role
New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is seeking a Socio-Therapist/Case Associate to provide support to families and youth in foster care, ensuring their safety, permanency, and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Develop behavioral plans and/or contracts to optimize youth functioning and mental health.
- Connect youth with community resources and extracurricular activities.
- Advocate for youth at school in collaboration with relevant staff.
- Conduct in-person contact with children and foster parents in homes and communities.
- Participate in family team and interdisciplinary conferences.
- Maintain accurate and timely record keeping in the Connections state system.
- Supervise virtual and in-person visits, acting as a visiting coach.
- Assist in transporting youth to visits and appointments.
- Conduct foster home visits, visits to birth homes, and other field visits.
- Attend meetings and conferences as needed.
- Assist with data collection for adoption home studies.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with families in a child welfare setting preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and engagement skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
