About the Role
Stratford School is seeking warm, energetic, and adaptable Preschool Substitute Teachers to support their dedicated team when staff coverage is needed. This role offers a flexible opportunity to work with young learners in a nurturing, engaging classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans and maintain a positive classroom environment
- Supervise students with care, attention, and kindness
- Support classroom routines and reinforce daily schedules
- Maintain the classroom’s organization and welcoming appearance
- Build strong, respectful relationships with students and staff
Requirements
- Completion of 12 semester or 18 quarter units in Early Childhood Education (including child development, family/community, and curriculum) or a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development
- Prior teaching experience with preschool or pre-K students (preferred)
- A patient and caring nature, with a strong desire to support young children
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak the English language
- Often carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend
- Regularly hear and use clear vision with or without correction
