About the Role

Texas Sports Academy is seeking an IT Support Specialist in Austin, TX, to support the IT Operations Manager with daily IT operations. This in-person role is ideal for a new graduate looking to begin a career in IT support.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the IT Operations Manager on daily tasks.
  • Assist with imaging and preparing MacBook Neos for deployment.
  • Install standard software, apply MDM profiles, and configure user accounts.
  • Enforce security settings on devices.
  • Receive inbound shipments, log serial numbers, and maintain inventory.
  • Pack and ship laptops to schools, coaches, and staff.
  • Process returned, damaged, or end-of-life devices.
  • Wipe and reimage devices for redeployment.
  • Retire devices that have reached end of life.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for student and staff device issues.
  • Resolve user issues directly or escalate to the IT Operations Manager.
  • Maintain accurate device tracking, ticket notes, and internal documentation.

Requirements

  • Hands-on IT support exposure through internships, help desk work, campus IT roles, coursework, or personal projects.
  • Working experience with macOS deployment and management.
  • Comfort supporting iOS or comparable mobile devices.
  • Hands-on experience with Apple Business Manager, Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle, or a comparable platform.
  • Comfort with receiving shipments, lifting boxes, organizing inventory, and preparing packages.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and patiently with students and parents.
  • Consistent, accurate record-keeping.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Perplexity Computer is a plus.
  • Prior experience supporting student device programs, including deployments of 100 or more devices is a plus.
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools is a plus.
  • CompTIA A+, Apple Certified Support Professional, or comparable certifications are a plus.
