About the Role

Provide administrative support to the FST Single-Session Walk-In Counselling Service (WIC). Volunteers coordinate walk-in paperwork, work closely with reception services and the Walk-In team, input documentation and evaluation data, and assist with online research for clients and counsellors. This is not a counselling position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of paperwork and the flow of clients
  • Assist with program evaluation by collecting data and entering it in an Excel spreadsheet
  • Assist with quality assurance by verifying that documentation is complete
  • Conduct online research to support the information and referral work of the Walk-In Service, potentially enhancing the list of resources available to counsellors
  • Provide administrative support to the Walk-In team and enter volunteer counsellors’ notes into the FST database
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with program policies
  • Occasionally, assist clients with paperwork and provide basic information about the Walk-in service

Requirements

  • A 6-month commitment is required
  • Must submit a cover letter and resume

Skills

  • General computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Excel experience is an asset
  • Internet research skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Experience working in an environment with individuals in distress is an asset
  • Demonstrated understanding of working with marginalized persons
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion
