About the Role

PAX Health is a leading mental and behavioral health organization seeking a New York Licensed Psychologist for a W-2, fee-for-service position. This role is ideal for psychologists who value a busy clinical practice and the opportunity to increase earnings based on services provided. Full-time psychologists working a 40-hour fee-for-service schedule can earn upwards of $170,000 annually, with additional compensation for administrative tasks and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess mental health, cognitive functioning, and overall well-being.
  • Provide individual and evidence-based psychotherapy to patients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, chronic pain, and related behavioral health concerns.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans designed to support recovery, rehabilitation, and improved functioning.
  • Utilize evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, trauma-focused interventions, and other appropriate modalities.
  • Maintain a consistent clinical schedule, with full-time fee-for-service psychologists generally booked for approximately 13 patient appointments per day.
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, vocational counselors, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Support patients throughout the return-to-function and return-to-work process, when applicable.
  • Complete accurate and timely progress notes, treatment plans, psychological reports, and other required clinical documentation.
  • Complete applicable administrative, reporting, and paperwork services associated with patient care.
  • Participate in depositions and other case-related professional services, as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with New York State, Workers' Compensation Board, professional, ethical, and organizational requirements.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology)
  • Active and unrestricted New York State Psychologist license
  • New York State Workers' Compensation Board authorization number upon acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning Workers' Compensation services
  • Experience providing psychological evaluations and/or psychotherapy
  • Experience with Workers' Compensation, no-fault, trauma, PTSD, chronic pain, or occupational behavioral health populations preferred
  • Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary behavioral health team
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to applicable professional codes of ethics and New York State regulatory requirements
  • Ability to maintain a consistent schedule and effectively manage a high-volume clinical caseload
  • Flexibility in scheduled days and hours based on patient and program needs
