About the Role

The Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all payroll functions. This role serves as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries, requiring exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. The successful candidate will respond to frequent and urgent requests for information regarding payroll, tax, vacation and sick time, report generation, general ledger, and payroll policy.

Responsibilities

Check timesheets for accuracy
Enter data into databases and spreadsheets
Handle direct deposit requests and data
Process paper checks for distribution
Acquire all necessary signatures to distribute payroll
Process wage garnishments
Make adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses, and commission
Process out-of-cycle checks and employee separations
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding paychecks, direct deposit, and general payroll questions
Maintain current employee salary allocations per payroll
Troubleshoot problems with paychecks, tax deductions, vacation and sick accruals, and other payroll-related matters by researching and responding accordingly with related staff and managers
Run and prepare regular payroll reports
Process new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, and deductions
Calculate wage and overtime payments, double time, and other duties associated with standard payroll processing

Requirements

High School Diploma
Strong PC skills
General math skills
