About the Role
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to production and facility equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery and all mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the repair of equipment as directed by other maintenance personnel.
- Ensure operation of CNC machinery such as press brakes, lathes and mills by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Inspect, operate, or test CNC and manual machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions and initiate repairs.
- Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
- Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and physical structure of all production facilities.
- Measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit.
- Install and configure electrical equipment.
- Follow electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Provide communication to production on potential equipment problems.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with OSHA regulations and company procedures.
Requirements
- Basic equipment maintenance: able to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive maintenance tasks.
- Technical understanding of maintenance concepts and practices.
- Ability to deal with uncertainty in a flexible and proactive manner.
- Basic common safety practices.
- Machine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings are common.
- Requires the use of safety glasses, electrical hazard rated safety toed shoes/boots, and other safety gear as needed.
- Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work overtime, including weekends as requested.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies when off work (on-call).
