About the Role
MSA develops, manufactures, and sells professional safety equipment and gas detection technology. As 'The Safety Company,' we have been creating life-saving products for over 100 years. We are seeking a Service Business Engineer to expand our service business, acting as a liaison between service and sales to develop service and maintenance offerings, advise existing customers on stationary gas detection solutions, and drive sustainable growth in the service sector.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and manage existing base of service and maintenance contracts.
- Coordinate contract modifications and develop customized contract models for long-term customer retention.
- Prepare quotes for service projects and complex service contracts.
- Maintain an overview of the installed base, focusing on stationary gas detection technology.
- Utilize installed base data to identify upgrade and modernization opportunities.
- Plan and coordinate upgrades for existing customer installations.
- Identify new customers and develop suitable service concepts.
- Clearly communicate the value of service, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Actively support sales with quotes and preliminary calculations for maintenance and commissioning within projects.
Requirements
- Completed technical apprenticeship with an electrical engineering focus.
- Experience in a service environment, ideally with service or maintenance contracts, measurement and control technology, gas warning technology, installed base management, or aftermarket/technical customer support.
- Proficient in MS Office and ideally ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Good understanding of service processes and lifecycle management.
- Ability to analyze complex information and translate it into actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Customer-oriented and solution-oriented mindset.
- Team player with intercultural competence.
- Very good German language skills (written and spoken, C1 or equivalent).
- Willingness to travel (at least 30%).
- Valid driver's license Class B.
- Experience with digital service solutions (IoT, Remote Monitoring, Predictive Maintenance) is desirable.
- Residing centrally in Germany is desirable.
