About the Role
Snappi, a Viasat subsidiary, is building an intelligent content delivery network (CDN) that optimizes ecommerce web performance by focusing on time-to-pixel rather than time-to-byte. This role involves building and operating the platform, working across core infrastructure and AI-powered operations, including web performance optimization, browser technologies, and emerging standards. You will follow problems across the edge proxy, ML pipeline, data collection, and tooling, with the opportunity to see your ideas reach production quickly.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud and edge network infrastructure software across AWS and GCP.
- Own the deployment path for developed software, including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and observability.
- Contribute to the ML pipeline for optimizing routing, caching, and delivery decisions.
- Work with real-user and synthetic performance data through the collection and analytics pipeline.
- Build self-healing systems that automatically detect, diagnose, and resolve production issues.
- Help build the autonomous agent architecture for unattended systems that can be inspected and redirected.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development/engineering.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience designing and operating backend services in production, considering failure modes, deployment, and 3 AM scenarios.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn continuously.
- Collaborative approach to technical conversations, integrating feedback in real-time.
- A disposition to notice and fix inefficient or broken things, with a focus on uptime, customers, and impact.
- Intellectual honesty and comfort admitting when you don't know something.
- Enthusiasm for the possibilities of AI and a proactive approach to using AI tools.
