About the Role
Join our Consulting division as a Treasury Risk & Accounting Advice Consultant. You will become a subject matter expert in the accounting and valuation of financial instruments, as well as the management of financial risks, providing consulting and auditing services to clients ranging from large corporations to hidden champions.
Responsibilities
- Provide consulting and auditing services to clients regarding the accounting and valuation of financial instruments according to HGB and IFRS (IFRS 9, IAS 32, IFRS 7), including initial recognition, measurement, presentation, disclosures, and hedge accounting.
- Support clients in identifying, analyzing, and measuring risk positions (e.g., FX, interest rate, commodity risks).
- Assist in developing and defining risk and hedging strategies and processes.
- Advise and audit on financial market regulation topics (e.g., EMIR).
- Develop data-driven and AI-powered solutions for automating valuation and accounting processes, efficiently auditing large datasets, and analyzing risk positions.
Requirements
- Completed or soon-to-be-completed degree in economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics (with a focus on finance and accounting), or a comparable field.
- First experience in business processes, consulting, or auditing, or experience in corporate treasury, financial risk management, or accounting and valuation of financial instruments through internships or vocational training.
- Ideally, initial knowledge of accounting for financial instruments (IFRS 9, IAS 32, IFRS 7, HGB) or their valuation.
- Interest in regulatory topics.
- Strong affinity for technology and initial experience with AI tools for efficiency improvement, or willingness to learn.
- Ideally, initial knowledge in data analysis and automation (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Python).
- Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Analytical approach, strong communication skills, team spirit, and a solution- and results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
