About the Role

EY Parthenon’s Infrastructure Advisory practice advises public and private sector clients on transactions and broader financial, strategic, and commercial advice related to infrastructure projects. We support government and private sector clients to tackle pressing public policy and investment challenges, helping them improve financial resilience, unlock investment, deliver regeneration and infrastructure programmes, support devolution and local government reform, and drive long-term economic growth. We are seeking a senior advisor to help local authorities, combined authorities and wider public sector organisations navigate financial, economic and investment challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert financial, commercial and strategic advice to clients on transactions and policy projects within dynamic teams.
  • Manage and deliver complex projects and programmes.
  • Develop and utilize financial models, including establishing data structures and performing sensitivity and scenario analysis.
  • Create business cases with strategic, economic, financial, and commercial evaluations.
  • Assist clients in achieving better organizational or service-specific financial sustainability.
  • Present impactful reports to senior client stakeholders for decision-making.
  • Drive business development activities and EY’s growth strategies.
  • Lead origination and sales efforts.
  • Contribute to sector thought leadership and shape EY's perspectives on policy and market developments.
  • Build senior client relationships across local authorities, combined authorities, government departments, and ecosystem partners.
  • Support the development and coaching of junior team members.

Requirements

  • An understanding of, and interest in, local and regional government.
  • An understanding of key sector strategic drivers, including regeneration, devolution, and financial resilience.
  • Ability to manage workstreams and projects within contractual and budgetary limits.
  • Team leadership and managerial skills.
  • Project and programme management capability.
  • Financial/data analysis and financial modelling capability.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • High-quality report drafting and document preparation.
  • Strong and engaging presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a flexible working environment within a diverse and dynamic team.
  • Extensive experience working within the UK public/infrastructure sectors.
