Responsibilities
- Contribute to the successful execution of departmental strategy in line with regional and international business objectives.
- Ensure day-to-day activities align with the overall departmental business strategy for your product/domain, meeting financial and non-financial targets.
- Adhere to departmental mandates.
- Lead, direct, and manage staff to ensure understanding of responsibilities, compliance with policies, and conduct commensurate with Firm values.
- Manage and monitor departmental books, risks, and controls to keep the Firm’s exposure within predefined limits.
- Adhere to the Trader Charter.
- Conduct business in line with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and enhance working relationships between Sales and Trading departments and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the effective management of direct budget expenditures.
- Partner with broader GM, GCIB, and JCIB teams to develop the business globally.
- Understand your product set, expectations for success, and client base.
- Provide MUFG institutional investors and corporate clients with cross-asset tailored, structured solutions in collaboration with MUFG Bank and MUS International sales, distribution, and relationship managers.
- Develop, promote, and expand the Structured Solutions product offering, primarily for ABL (aka SSFF), and including Structured Repo/TRS/MTMF, CLF, EMLs.
- Structure, trade, underwrite, and distribute products to the approved client set, managing the transaction throughout the trade lifecycle.
- Maintain documentation, processes manuals, and lifecycle management procedures for complex transactions.
- Promote the Structured Solutions product office to create a client-focused, sustainable, and profitable business franchise.
- Identify, monitor, and take action regarding risks within your product/domain.
- Accurately price all new transactions and risk positions using market-leading pricing and hedging methodologies, assessing complex transactions holistically.
- Manage all relevant risks (market, credit, operational, conduct, xVA) within the Firm’s risk appetite using market-leading risk management models and monitoring tools.
- Ensure compliance within approved risk limits for your department.
- Conduct business in line with regulatory requirements (Volcker, EMIR/CFTC, MIFID).
- Escalate issues related to risk management, regulatory risk compliance, and operational risks.
- Protect and enhance the Firm’s and Group’s reputation in all activities.
- Deliver and grow a sustainable, client-focussed, flow-oriented business.
- Maximize profitability by leveraging and enhancing the Group’s customer franchise.
- Partner with Sales, Trading, and Research in MUS International to deliver client-focused products.
- Partner with other parts of the Group to deliver franchise and business growth.
- Ensure the Company’s compliance with internal risk and compliance requirements, controls, and procedures.
- Follow all relevant policies and procedures, and ensure team members do the same.
- Maintain and enhance good working relationships with stakeholders across the region and globally to share best practices and develop effective local policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Extensive Deal experience of origination, structuring and execution of multiple ABL transactions.
- Specific experience in interaction and negotiation of terms and documentation with Private Credit Funds.
- Experience and expertise with in-depth underlying asset-level analysis and valuation, in particular relating to Sponsor lending to private companies.
- Ability to present and discuss ABL transactions with external clients, leveraging own client relationships to originate new opportunities.
